Reusable routines

Save a repeatable starting point without rewriting workouts you already planned or performed.

Use a routine as a starting point

A routine stores a reusable session name, kind, duration, exercises, and targets. It is not a dated workout and it contains no record of work performed today.

Open Manage routines in Training, then choose New routine to create your own reusable starting point. Review the routine’s exercises, set and rep targets, rest, and units before saving or using it. Give it a name that makes sense when you see it in the chooser later.

Schedule a session

Choose a routine when adding a workout and check the destination date. Review the resulting session before saving: the routine is a starting point, not an automatic commitment that every target is right for that day.

Each dated workout keeps its own snapshot. Editing a reusable routine later does not rewrite workouts you already scheduled or actual results you recorded.

Adjust the actual day

If today’s session needs different targets, edit the dated session. If you want a different starting point for future sessions, update the routine as well. These are different edits with different effects.

Synthetic example: a routine has three sets of a press. You reduce today’s planned session to two sets. That dated change does not mean every future use of the routine should have two sets.

A routine never completes sets or records activity automatically. Use workout logging to record the real session.
