Import a Corner workspace

Preview a supported JSON export before confirming a copy into an empty workspace.

Before you choose a file

Use a supported Corner workspace JSON export, not a recipe text download, spreadsheet, or account-service backup. Keep an untouched copy of the source file.

The receiving workspace must be empty. Existing records are not overwritten, and this flow is not a merge or a reset tool. If Corner says the destination is not empty, stop and choose an appropriate empty destination; do not delete retained records just to force an import.

Preview and confirm

  1. Sign in to the receiving account and open Settings → Import workspace.
  2. Select the Corner JSON export.
  3. Wait for Review your import and check the file name and record counts.
  4. Confirm this is the account and data you intended. Type IMPORT in the confirmation field.
  5. Choose Import my records and wait for completion before leaving or editing elsewhere.

The import copies supported records into this account. It does not change the original workspace, transfer your login, or reconnect previously approved clients.

If the import is refused

  • Invalid or unsupported file: select an intact supported Corner JSON export. Do not remove fields blindly to make validation pass.
  • Workspace not empty: use the supported empty-workspace destination; imports never overwrite existing records.
  • Workspace changed after preview: review the current destination and preview again. An old preview is not approval to replace newer data.
  • File too large: the workspace transfer limit is 32 MiB, with additional collection and nesting limits. Do not split a JSON export manually and assume the fragments are supported imports.
  • Connection or service failure: preserve your file and follow the displayed error. Check the destination before retrying; do not infer success from a button press.

After importing

Review a few known recipes, dates, workouts, food entries, settings, and check-ins. Confirm serving definitions and units still mean what you expect. Reconnect any external client only if you still want to grant it access; consent and revocation are separate from workspace portability.
